Instructions for Setting Up an Adobe IO Connection

IMPORTANT NOTE: This article is now outdated. Please refer to the instructions in this article for the new Adobe credential style.

Prior to establishing an Adobe IO Connection, you'll need to ensure you have the appropriate permissions to set up the connection.

Step 1

Create a new project at console.adobe.io

Select the applicable organization in the upper right navigation

Select ‘Create a new project’

Now select ‘Edit Project’ and update the project name to a desired name.

Step 2

Add an Adobe Analytics connection to your project

Select Add to Project > API > Adobe Analytics > Service Account (JWT)

Click to Generate a Key Pair and a config.zip will be downloaded onto your machine. (*See Final Notes below to learn what you will do with this file.)

Click Next.

Select a Product Profile that has all AA permissions included and for which you have been added as a developer. If no profiles have AA API Access, then you’ll have to create one from within the Admin Console of the Adobe Experience Cloud. Now Save.

Step 3

Add Experience Platform Launch API to project

In console.adobe.io, Select Add to Project > API >Experience Platform Launch API > Next > Next again.

Select a Product Profile that has all Launch permissions included and for which you have been added as a developer. If no profiles have Launch API Access, then you’ll have to create one from within the Admin Console of the Adobe Experience Cloud. Now Save.

Step 4 (If setting up API connection for a Modern Implementation)

Add an Experience Platform API connection to your project

In console.adobe.io, Select Add to Project > API > Experience Platform API > Next > Next again.

Select a Product Profile that has View and Manage Schema permissions and access to the production sandbox and for which you have been added as a developer. If no profiles have AEP API Access, then you’ll have to create one from within the Admin Console of the Adobe Experience Cloud. Now Save.

Step 5

Ensure your Technical Account is an Admin for the Adobe Analytics Product within the Experience Cloud Admin Console

Navigate to the Experience Cloud admin console and ensure that the Technical Account Email is an Admin for the Adobe Analytics Product you have used throughout this process.

Final Notes

You have now successfully created a new Adobe IO Connection to support an Apollo implementation.

If you are planning on performing Apollo builds for your organization, you should now be able to add your Adobe IO connection under Property Settings.

*When adding an Adobe IO Connection to Apollo, you will be asked to paste a private key. The private key can be copied by navigating to the downloaded config.zip on your machine. Drag and drop the private.key file into your browser. This should reveal the private key. Copy and paste the entire contents of the private key, including the “BEGIN” and “END” contents, into the Private Key field.
